Organ transplant is a vital advancement in the medical world since it extends the life of a person who has vital that is no longer functioning. In order to be transplanted, a donor must be willing to give his or her organs. The process where the organs can legally be obtained from a donor is called organ harvesting. Though it is supposed to be a legal activity, we have to know that there are illegal traders in the organ black market where organ harvesting is performed illegally. This can be a big help to people who desperately needs organs but just can’t wait for donors. But the bottom line is that this activity is still illegal because innocent people suffer.
Among the vital organs that are allowed for organ harvesting, the kidney is one of the most in-demand organs. This means that many people suffer from kidney malfunctions and they need kidneys to help them excrete normally again. We all have two kidneys and a person can donate one of his or her kidneys alive. Way back in 1954, the first successful kidney transplant was performed. Now, this organ is in-demand and scarce though in Iran, there is no waiting list for kidney transplants and selling kidneys there is totally legal. Kidney is really in-demand around the world and one man is even delisted from e-Bay for selling his kidney for $5.75M.
